He treats the evil topics like Satan and demons in a holistic way without energy and without seeing Amrour behind every bush. The best thought-breeder in all our library. No one else I know of treats this subject with the depth and insight that Gurnall brings to this familiar passage from Ephesians. Full of practical advice for the Christian battles in life. Although this book was written in the ‘s, the lessons are still very revelant today. This is the first of a three book series. What an awesome book that is packed with Christian doctrine but delivered in very personal examples.

coomplete I’ve been reading through this little treasure on and off for a while now. I am honored to have reviewed for MP. No other apparatus is provided but no other is strictly necessary.
If there’s any one book a christian should read – after the Bible, this is it.
The chrisstian metaphors employed through out each section cannot but help lead readers towards spiritual growth. Take it up and read, but take it now! It can have a salutory effect and deepen your walk with Christ, if you let it. If you do not have the reader, click on the ‘Get Acrobat Reader’ button to obtain it. In this first volume, the focus is on gurnsll place in Christ, the nature of the battle with Satan, and exposition on what it means to stand in the fight. But, I’ve been rather gracious giving some 2, 3 or 4 star ratings. It’s a Puritan book so the language is tough to grasp if you’ve never read a puritan book. Practical, Scriptural exhortation for believers to be equipped for the battles that we all face daily.
Any more, I try to never give 5 stars to a book. Gurnall writes from a historical Puritan background, but within 30 minutes of starting to read this book, it is very clear that human nature is the same then as now.
