Unfortunately, I am still not an expert poker player but I have learned how to be better. Theory and Practice is not an easy read; it’s got some charts, it’s got some formulas; but it’s also got a lot of good information to will make you more money playing No Limit Hold’em.

Theory and Practice is the ideal read for anyone looking to improve their cash game or dabid play. Wouldn’t automatically dvid to a player of any skill level, although I think it’s worth a skim to see if it looks interesting to you. Customers who bought this item also bought. But the good part about this book is that the book makes a very explicit distinction in explaining the difference between limit and no limit; and between deep stack no limit and short stack no limit; and between cash game and tournament. It teaches concepts above and beyond the basic “tight and aggressive” formula that most every other book advocates rather simplistically, I might add.

Amazon Second Chance Pass it on, trade it in, give it a second life. One of the best books on no limit cash game not tournament poker. This book is a bit dense and certainly on the theoretical side. Little by little you will gain a great knowledge of the professionals of Poker world. If your opponents are engaged in first level play, showing ddavid a fancy move at level three or four will make no difference; they won’t get it. There is a LOT of math which you will not be able to do at the table but it is important to understand the thought process.

TAP is that the authors approach the game theoretically and with an open mind. I’ve read it like three times, and probably will again soon.
