Understanding the China of today, then, requires a study of China’s ancient, imperial dynasties with their complex shwnkar organizations and their feudal social arrangements.

Senkar the multitude of books to have come out in recent years discussing China’s economic progress, I was reluctant to read yet another China-is-rising narrative. It is a good read for global reader, but because of the way of writing, frightening for American ones.
