This was a good book I enjoyed it. I often have the same issue with Karen Ranney’s books. She’ll lose her extra pin money. To say Montgomery is confused is inadequate I think, as he is erratic, cynical and is often times guarded. Back cover copy Who Is Montgomery Fairfax? The author is very good at describing the places involved and moving the story along, the story gives you people to love and hate as you travel back in time to a beautiful setting.


And ranhey sex was fan-freaking-tastic. I have to start by saying this is one of the best historical romances I have read in a long time. Haunted by the ghosts of his past and not wanting a wife, he pays her little attention to Veronica except in bed.

I just wanted a better connection to the romance.

She also has the gift of sensing what others are feeling and while for me it wasn’t necessary for the storyline, it was interesting. When she arrives, she is drugged and is about to be raped by a circle of lecherous men when she is suddenly rescued by a man visiting the group to ask about a magical mirror.
